[导读]Eric 带来一些美国游客写回给国内亲朋的明信片，让我帮他投到邮筒里。在为期20天的旅游中，这些男男女女，老老少少的美国人，用不带文采的口水话，凑上了一份中国印象：“美丽与杂乱、贫困和友善、陈旧与时尚，传统与现代化的混合体”。总之，中国特别得难以描述，与他们来之前的anticipation大不一样。

1.It's been a wonderful trip so far, Just very hot, humid and rainy! The people are all very friendly. Some want to have their pictures taken with us! English is written everywhere and spoken frequently. lots to see- lots to buy!
2.i can't explain china, it is very different from anything i have ever seem. Some areas are very beautiful, then there is tremendous poverty. we've had rain almost every day that makes things a little unpleasant. will call you when i get home.
you would crack up. All of us woman just want to know how many stars the bathroom is. We had our town guide trained. He finally got to the point where he automatically told us how many stars, because he knew we would ask. The food is "Yucky", cant' wait to get home. talk to you soon.
3. shanghai was beautiful and modernized. Everyone is amazed how different the china is from what we had anticipated.
4.We are nice having a great time. I think it's the best holiday yet! I want to do this type of cruise again. Hope you are all well and enjoying yourself. Yell you all about it when we get back.

7. Today we went to look at the three gorge dam. it's very impressive and the weather co-operated! in a couple of hours we will be going through the locks.
8. we arrived at the three gorges dam today and with beautiful weather. it's been very hot, humid and rainy before this. we are going thr these locks right now. Thought of you and our friends. This trip has been wet but wonderful！ have taken lots of pix!
9. How i wish you were here, i'm sure you would love it! the ship is great,so is the food, The passengers are mostly american,really friendly. We are now in the locks at the 3 gorges dam(fascinating!).Every day something happening

17.our trip has been very exciting and different. We go through the locks in a couple of days. Viking cruises has been great. We got lost in Wujan(7 million people). made our ship late.:( huge cities, unbelibe! 3-gorges dam.
18. we have done so many things here in china. We have gone to chinese gardens, buddnist temples, chinese acrobats, musuems, factories,and more. This postcard is of the three gorges dam which we will be passing through. The food here is definitely not the chinese food we are used to, but it is still good. There is such good shopping and fashion here is awesome. right now, we are 7 days into the trip. By the time you get this, we'll probably be home. I love you and miss you! see you soon!
19. we're having a great time in china. For 10 days we're on a boat that takes us way up the yangtze river. we're seeing amazing things in this huge country. Uncle ted has learned enough chinese to make kids laugh. see you in a few weeks.

21. we are having fun and enjoying all the chinese food. I have learned a word or two-中国 this says china. Tomorrow we will visit where mulan if from.
22. we had a looong flight over to shanghai. but felt pretty good when we arrived. we got on the boat a couple of days later. so far i think we had one day of sunshine. The rain is beginning to tell. It's been a week.
21. i finally convinced your old "friend" to pose for you while waving from her hotel room(see arrow). Unfortunately, The zoom function malfunctioned. (箭头指向明信片背面的描述：P.S. The entire area on the reverse was farmland 15 years ago.)
22. well, we are in china. It is amzingto be here & there are some truely beautiful places and some very poor, sad places. Today we came here. It's a beautiful park with huge brass model of towers, plus the original one- but where we docked the ship, it was dirty, poor and very sad. However having said that-the trip has been wonderful!
23.If hours on the plane didn't seen too bad, we arrive in shanghai in good spirits. We have been here, on the cruise for about a week, and we've gone about half way. there's been a lot of rain, Hope it clears.
24. thought i'd drop a line to keep in touch. Bard & I are in a cruise up the Yangtze river for 7 days. The ship is wonderful, the weather is terrible. I hope it brightens up soon; i don't like going on tours in the rain.(brighten up: vi.变得明亮起来)
25. Hi, Guys, We've got a down day (finally) with an afternoon free. We went on a tourin the rain this morning and got under way when we returned to the ship. The internet connections are very different to mani; also there is no wire to the cabins.
26. we have been in china here one week and have seen the sun for one day. The ship we are on is very nice and the food is excellent. I don't like taking tours in the rain,but what can one do...we use an umbrella.
27. we are sailing on the beautiful yangtze river. In 2 days we will sail through the three gorges dan. The food is great, the country is beautiful & we are living greatly pampered.
28. this is a sight you might see along the Yangtze river. we toured this tower. almost 2000 years old. lotsof new mixed with the old. only complaint the weather.
29.we are having a great trip. Everyone is very friendly. English is written almost everywhere. This is a shot in shanghai. our only complaint-too hot and humid! Otherwise, it's been fantastic.
30. This is one of the old chinese structures we have visited. about 1800 years old. Everyone has been so friendly. chinese will come up and want their picture taken with us! If the weather had been a bit better, this would have been perfect.
31.Here we are in china! we are visiting shanghai, Xian(terracotta warriors) Beijing and are spending 10 days cruising the Yangtze river. The weather is very hot and muggy but we are seeing amazing things and the touris difinitely 1st class all the way. what a treat!
32. enjoying the seneray and all the sights(风景名胜).Weather here is hot and humid.
33.how are you? we are having a great time. this is a picture of the three gorges dam we are going through it. you can see a picture of our boat! take care, we will call you when we get back.
34.(纤夫) this is the way they used to pull the boatsup stream before they built the dam. They worked very hard for money to feed their families. The river is so very interesting. We are taking lots of pictures. We visited a school. They sang for us.
35. china is under construction! scads of new living units, though.Enjoyed shanghai, mix of old and very new. Then on the yangtze for 10 days. Raining and warm.
36. china has so many people. We are on a large boat on the Yangtze river. In a city called Wuhan, some houses are very old. But many are being torn down to make room for new tall rise apartments. There is building going on everywhere. A big container ship with rumbling deisee engines is passing us. this river is like an 8 lane freeway.
37. we are on the huge yangtze river. There are lots of other very interesting boats carring dirt, coal, cargo containers(集装箱). It is like a big freeway. People live on the boats, They wave at us!
38. We saw a man plowing his field of rice with big ox pulling his plow. He was up to his knees in water. There are beautiful vegetable gardens everywhere. Even on steep hills. We are on a very,very big river. We have never seen so many boats. everywhere they are building tall apartment buildings for people.
39. we saw a man fishing in his rice patch with a bamboo pole. People ride bikes all over in busy traffic and almost get hit. People have only one child in their family. Everyone works hard. we are taking lots of pictures to show you.
40. we are watching big ships and small ships go by carring big loads of coal and dirt. They wave at us. We saw this very old garden. They had big koi(锦鲤) fish in their garden.
41. we are having a lot of fun exploring china and have found a very modern country. We have visited many museums that have *tifact* from two to three thousand years ago.
42. we spent two nights in shanghai and then boarded a ship to cruise the Yangtze river...
